help blue screen of death

so im trying to install aol broadband and a few other things and when i try to install my laptop crashes and then the old blue screen of death

my hardware is

the laptop is a sony PCG-FX501
cpu is 1.00 ghz amd duron
20 gb hdd

We will need to know the exact error message you are seeing.

In the meantime, try uninstalling any previous AOL versions and reboot, then run a disk cleanup tool like CCleaner and reboot, then reinstall the version you want.

 

What OS are you using, if it is ME your going to get that a lot now matter what. also what browser are you using, IE7 has (based on review on some site) crashed XP before. "a few other things" could have also caused the problem. Your virtual mem might not be set big enough to handle AOL or a broadband connection.

 

You can try posting a BSOD debug report to see what is exactly causing the issue.
