If you can copy the minidump file to your Desktop, zip it and then attach the resulting zip file to a post, I'll try to debug it in an attempt to find something more specific.

As it's commonly a RAM issue, try booting with only 1 stick of RAM, if you have 2 fitted.

It has happened eversince avast was added by tech who reinstalled windows. I have removed it today. Could it have been that?

if he installed avast, shouldn't have been a problem. now if he installed avast over 1 or more other anti virus programs that were still present, then it may be a problem.

but you say clean install, so i don't think that's what it was.

Copy the *.dmp file to the Desktop, right-click it and select 'Send to' > Compressed folder. That should create a zip file on the Desktop with the same name as the dump file. Attach it to your next post, please.

That looks like something's trying to kill Avast!, I'd suspect malware or Avast! clashing with a recent MSFT update. Uninstall Avast! and use the tool here. Install MSE and run a full scan.

Can you copy C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini052811-01.dmp to your Desktop then zip and attach it please?
