Ok, so I went and uploaded an .swf(in Firefox, at www.swfup.com). When I went to view the .swf flash file my browser came non responsive and I couldn't do anything with it. I opened task manager and tried to end Firefox.exe and when I did a process called DUMPREP.exe would hog my processor for some time, I was scared and ended DUMPREP.exe(I thought it might be spyware or something)(I'm using Avast Anti-virus and Comodo Firewall and Spybot). I then opened Firefox and tried to view any flash game or movie and my browser would just crash again. I tried this in Opera as well and the same thing happened. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I notice no problem at all when except when a flash (.swf) file is embedded in a page.

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I hate to bump, but I have discovered that if I wait about a minute and a half after I go to a flash-enabled page, the flash will load. My browser will be non-responsive for that 1 and a halve minutes though... (firefox).

Could be your Display Driver. Have you updated recently?

No, I certainly don't think I've ever updated.... not manually anyways. Thanks for the advice I'll look into it.

    Woah! It's working again. :D :D

I was googleing how exactly to go about updating a driver when my firewall said firefox.exe was trying to modify a file called 'C:/prgmfiles/macromedia/flash/flashupdatetest.txt' or something and I allowed it. Flash apps and games and movies all load great now, no more crashing. :)

I still think I should try and update my drivers though....

    Sounds good. :)

The reason I mentioned updating the driver was some users were having flash problems "after" updating the video driver and having to go back to an earlier version. But, you seem to be ok. It's up to you.

Glad you got it sorted. Good job. ;)
