    Hi all,
i recently just brought a novatech laptop and i can connect to the internet , i am using a wireless router and am able to connect to the network so have entered password and ip adress for the router. int he bottom right hand corner the wireless icon is present and it says its connected. As soon as i go on internet explorer a page comes up saying "page cannot be displayed. It is probably a simple reason for this. Is there any solutions for this porblem.
    thanks

Just had the same problem with a laptop & wireless connection through a linksys router & cable modem. Was instructed by Dell to remove all of Norton's (of course, Dell was who put Norton's on thereconfused ). So, anyway, instead of calling Norton's for help with removal, as Dell suggested, I went through Geeks & found a "Norton's Removal Tool"... believe it's located in the left-side of the homepage under the "Anti-Virus" tab. But if you can't find it there, you can do a search on Geeks for "Norton's Removal" & you should find it. Anyway, don't know if this is your problem, but as soon as I ran the Norton's Removal Tool & restarted the laptop, I was able to get online. You may want to try. I didn't know that Norton's was even running, as it wasn't showing up in the system tray. Just a simple suggestion it couldn't hurt to try. There are plenty of other free anti-virus & anti-spyware programs you can download from Geeks that work well. I've also heard (via Geeks) that if using a router -- that between the Window's firewall & the router firewall (that comes with it), that is good enough for firewall security. Good luck, & if this is not the problem/solution, be sure to post again, so that someone with more experience can help you.:) Shannon

i managed to resolve the problem. I hope this resolves your rproblem as well but it seemed to work for me. Click on control panel then network connections , then right click on the network which is connected, then another box will appear and there should be a box which says configure click on that then click and it will ocnfigure it for you then just click on internet explorer and it should work.
    Hope this helps
