HELP!! Cant log on right?

my computer says "windows cannot load the locally stored profile. possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. if the problem persists, contact the network administrator." how do I fix it?

the profile im trying to load is the administrator profile. there is another limited user profile on the computer as well. it loads fine right now. it has had that error a few times in the past on both profiles but a simple restart would fix it.

when the error pops up it gives about 30 seconds then creates a temporary profile but deletes everything when logged off.


I have tried creating another account with admin profile to get to the folders that way. it let me create a new user but but it wont let me get to the folders with all my files.

HELP!! I have many important files stored on that profile including a 25page paper for school I have spent months on among other things.

You can try using the User Profile Hive Cleanup Utility from Microsoft. You can download it from this link. More info can be found at the following links:

The links primarily refer to problems logging off, but it's been my experience that a corrupt user profile hive can cause both logoff and logon problems.
