Help Can't Stop Pop-ups!!!!!!!!!!!!

popups won't stop .... i tried everything spent three hours doing everything one of superGEEKS said to get rid of spyware, adware, hijackeers. Even loaded Mozilla Firefox. i thought i had erased IE from computer but i still get popups saying they are using Internet Explorer. I Have yahoo dsl and that keeps trying to open.

Look at this pages you will see links for tools to show Running Proccess and StartUps.

You might have "Junk" that is installed as a program and it runs auto from the startup.

i dont run anything in startup nothing........ the popups are originating from the IE web browser yet i have removed the program IE from hard drive.

 

Go to the control panel, sevices and disable messenger.

 

yeah what he said, just search for services and goto messenger and like right click it and goto properties and in there you can disable there

 

i cant find services in control panel

 

What you should do is go through all the steps listed in this link:

Even though you run all those programs it does not mean they fixed everything. Some malware/viruses will keep coming back unless you do certain things in a correct order. I did not see that you had any virus prot. running at all? At any rate you probably have something on you comp. that you have to clean. It is a pain to do all the steps but you will come out with a better understanding of how to avoid the stuff in the future. Make sure you follow everything as it is spelled out then report back what happened. You may want to start a new thread in gthe spyware forum btw. There are a lot of people there that can help you out.
