I cannot update my Windows Vista to SP2 and cannot install KB2393802 either. When I run Windows Update, it says these updates are available, and downloads them. But when I restart the computer, it says it's installing but then shuts off and indicates that the computer is reversing the changes because the updates didn't install properly. I've tried numerous Microsoft forums and I've run all of your Read Me Run Me tools to no avail. Please help. thank you.

Delete any pending*.xml files from this folder:

http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/3189/windowsrepair.gif Please download Windows Repair by Tweaking.com to your desktop.
    • See the download links under this icon: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MGDownloadLoc.gif
    • Double-click tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip and extract the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder to your desktop.
    • Now open this folder and double-click Repair_Windows.exe.
    • Click the Start Repairs tab on the far right.
    • Click Custom Mode so there is a bullet in it.
    • Click the Start button (bottom right)
Note: When asked if you would like to create a restore point. It is recommended just in-case something does not go as planned.
    • Click Unselect All

      • Repair Windows Update
      Note: Leave everything else unchecked
    • Put a checkmark in Restart System When Finished

Cannot do a system restore to a different date. I had done a system restore about a month ago & then ran my updates & my computer hasn't been the same since. I've done the Windows Update Component & it didn't work either.

Did the services.msc & all are set accordingly. SP1 is installed. I did notice that wudriver.dll gives an error when it tries to start. I've looked up the error & tried the fixes but they don't change anything. Still no luck.

I've run this & when I click "validate" it takes me to the Windows download site, but that's it. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried disabling your antivirus before doing an update?

Thanks for any help ahead of time.
