    There is SATA and IDE.

    or

    this S-ATA one above.
she has 2 other hard drives on her computer and not sure which she has right now.
i'm ASSUMING it's IDE...but if we got S-ATA would that cause any issues?
Regardless I could use some help here lol
    thanks guys.

yea .. there's no SATA ports on that board, so if you want the SATA drive you would have to buy a PCI SATA controller card

keep in mind that you can only attach 4 IDE devices to that motherboard, if you already have 4 HDD/cd drives attached you will have to buy a PCI IDE controller card

hmmm so between her dvd burner, cd burner and 2 hdd's, guess im going to need one or, just take out one of her hd's in there already...great...tedious process.
the pci ide controller card is it just an add on to the motherboard?
    thanks Pyrate

the above is a link to a selection of them, I don't know what is a good brand though

You might also consider removing the CD burner and just replacing that w/ a new hdd, since the dvd burner has the same capabilities as the cd buirning ... although you will probably have to get some 3.5 to 5.25 installation brackets

or you could just go the easy and get an external drive:D
