Help! cws.searchmeup hijacker

    I have been fighting a new hijacker called cws.searchmeup...and loosing the battle. It is in hkey_current_user\software\toolband and I can delete it, but on the first opening of IE it is back...every time. It seems to be linked somehow to IE opening. I tried searching the net for a fix but couldn't find one, most say there is no "disinfectant" or something to that effect. I tried several cleaning programs and even bought two, but they do not even list it yet. Any thoughts?

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:
