Ok, so I just formatted my computer and i decided to try windows media player 11. Well, I hate it. I used the add/remove windows components option to get rid of it, but it still says that there is a more recent version installed on my computer when i go to install version 10. What can i do to get rid of WMP 11??? Any help is very much so appreciated. I am running windows xp pro sp2.

I'd stick with WMP11, I like to go with the latest version in all media players to guarantee full functionality and have the latest interface. It's a bit tricky to remove a version as you've discovered. Good luck.
