Help! DVD-RW drive disappeared

    My DVD-rw has disappeared. They are listed in the devise manager but w/ a !. Uninstalled - reinstalled - tried to update driver - downloaded drivers, updated windows xp. Still cannot make them work.

    Uninstall, right click and choose "Scan for new hardware changes", what does it do?

    Also, what error code are you getting? (Right click on the device and select properties)
