    Hi,

About a week ago I downloaded some free program I saw on MSN tech, and I tried to use it, but I wasn't tech savvy enough to know how to work it, so I clicked out of it, and wanted to uninstall it. But then I saw that it hadn't made an icon on my computer and I couldn't find it in Add/Remove Programs and now I can't find it in Program Files.

I don't remember the name of it, except that it was supposed to delete duplicate files and I think it had the name of "Murder" or "Kill" in it.

Now my laptop is running slower, and I really want to find that download and uninstall it, but I can't find it. I don't want to do a system restore and lose some of the new information I put on my computer since then.

Is there any way I can find it to uninstall it? :confused

    Thanks.

    Lois

Are we certain that it got installed? Not every program requires installation. Some can be run without.

MS has a few apps of the sort: pagedefrag, filemon, and regmon come immediately to mind.

I'm afraid I can't find anything like the program you are describing. Just to be clear, did we get it from MSN, or Microsoft?

Try searching for "murder" or "kill. (Start>Search>All Files and Folders)
Also you can download CCleaner, install, and run it. Look in the Tools section. It has an un-install list, your app should show up there if installed.

CCleaner is a good safe tool to clean your PC. Run the Cleaner and Registry tools. If your app is in a temp folder it will clean it out.
Last you can go back to the site and try to find it again.(without downloading) Once you have the right name you can search for it again.
You can try this maintenance procedure to see if you can speed your PC back up.

If all this fails to speed you back up, you may have some malware and it would be a good idea to visit here. Make sure to run and perform all the steps.

Well, I did a search, but it didn't find anything.

And I can't remember where I saw the download, except that it was from the Tech section of the MSN.com homepage.

But I did uninstall a couple programs through CCleaner that helped my computer speed up.

I do know that the "Murder" duplicate files program was installed, because the program itself had told how to uninstall it in the "Help" section.

Oh, well, maybe I'll run into it on my computer some day and get to remove it.

Meantime, in the CCleaner Tools section for Uninstall, is the DIGOpt, DIGRegEx and TPNala Wallpaper programs that I need on there?

Also, it has Lotso!Delux, and I tried to uninstall it, but it said "Installation Log File Not Found". How do I get rid of that?

    Thank you.

DIGOpt, DIGRegEx - These are programs related to MSN's Photo Swap. You can remove them if you don't use that service.
TPNala Wallpaper - I couldn't find any good info on this.

Go to My Computer and look in your program files for it. You may have deleted the uninstaller or the folder in the past. If you have a folder but no uninstaller in it, just delete it and run the CCleaner reg tool, that should clean it up. Then you can remove it from that uninstall list
