Help for a friend

I am writing for a friend at work. She is running XP Home. She has Mcafee on her computer. She cannot get her Outlook Express to work, nor can she even get to any website.

She has tried System Restore and it didn't work.

I am not sure if she has any other prevention or detection tools, on her computer. Doesn't sound like it. She seemed to think McAfee would take care of everything. She has done a scan with McAfee and it shows nothing.

Anyways, my question is..........Is there anything I can do to try to help her out. Such as putting Adaware, Spybot, etc on a Cd and seeing if she could run them from there? Or what, if anything can I help her with?

Thanks chaslang. I will do that and see if that helps her. Will take me a while as I am on dial up and only connect at 23.6,,,,,,,,,,,,Rotten living in the country, no dsl, cable,,,,,,,only dial up......
