My PC is custom built. Someone helped me with the parts that I would need and I watched a YT video and installed everything myself. But that was 4 - 6 years ago and my graphics card which is an Nvidia GTX 670 stopped working a couple of years in. I get error 43.

I tried Googling off and on over the years to try to fix it but nothing has seemed to solve the issue.

I have used DDU to uninstall drivers completely and do a clean install with the latest drivers. That didn't work.

I did the same with older drivers. That didn't work.

I ordered a new graphics card this morning(GTX 1060) that will probably take a week or longer to get here since it's the Holidays...

But I fear even my new graphics card might get error 43. I read somewhere that some people had registry problems that caused error 43. Some people claim it was a virus that caused error 43.

If anyone is available to help me get to the bottom of this I would greatly aprpeciate it. I'm not technical savvy or anything when it comes to PC parts and all that.. but I can follow instructions well and can navigate a Windows OS.

I'm using Windows 10 64 bit btw. Not sure if it's standard or pro as I got a free upgrade from Windows 8.1 Pro to this a few years ago.

Anyways, thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Greatly appreciate it!

It seems like a moot point now. Wait until your new card arrives and follow the directions to install it. In fact, you can prepare now by downloading the manual and installation guide for your new card now and read up on it.

If this were me, I would totally uninstall the old drivers, then do a "cold" shutdown of the computer. That is, shutdown Windows and the computer through the Start menu, then unplug the computer from the wall. Open the case, touch bare metal of the case interior to discharge any static in your body, then remove the old and install the new as instructed.
