    Hi all...
just another crisis here. I was reformatting a hard drive and reinstalling all software and was into about half-way when all of a sudden, the system locks up hard. It was installing MS Picture It at the time and just locked.

I rebooted and got the following message:
Boot from CD : DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

Now, I did insert the system disk but tried to boot from the hard drive. No luck. So, I plugged in another hard drive and got the same message. Same on yet a third hard drive.

Finally, I thought that I would give the original hard drive another try and then boot from the CD... weird. I get the original hard drive hooked up, turn it on and get the MS ScanDisk and that the system was shut off improperly. It now seems to be running OK....

Anyone have this event happen to them?
Do I need to worry about this hard drive's future (short term)?
    Thanks...

If you are still worried about your hard drive failing, :p I'd install one of your other hard drives as a slave drive and use it for backups. Easy to regularly back up main drive to slave drive.

Always a good idea to have backups. :D Bazza
