I was tired of having to type in my administrator password for WinXP Pro on my computer every time I booted up. So, I clicked Start>Settings>Control Panel>User Account. Then I clicked on "change the way users log on or off".
Next, I unclicked the "Use the Welcome Screen" box, which automatically unclicked the "Use Fast User Switching" box below it and no longer made that an option. So I clicked "Apply Options" at the bottom of the screen and thought everything was fine and dandy.

Well, I restarted my computer to make sure that I know longer had that stupid Welcome Screen and it didn't. BUT....now when the computer boots, right after the HP logo flashes, a blue screen with a dialog box that pops up over it asks me for my User Name and Password. When I click, OK, everything looks fine.....the computer continues booting and then shows the black WinXp logo screen. Then when it opens to my desktop, the desktop is there for like 2 seconds and the dang computer restarts itself and goes through the whole process again: HP logo, dialog box, black XP logo screen, desktop for 2 seconds then restart. WHAT IS THE DEAL?

All I wanted was to not have that dang welcome screen everytime I got on the computer. I just wanted to be able to boot up and go straight to my desktop. PLEASE HELP as a I cannot even get onto the comp at this point!
