Win 11 was released to production on Oct 5 plodr and I decided to dive in, hence the retirement of the two Thinkpads. New laptop - everything just happens like lightning

@nightowl_80 Apologies for butting in

Which way did you try to upgrade from windows 10.Did you try through the windows update section.Did you turn on TPM in Bios.Do you have the correct specs for the install.

And windows 11 is now a black screen of death. So far i have not run into any issues after fix's.

What is you're motherboard maybe we can guide on how to turn on TPM.

We need a little more information on this issue in order to help.

Just because it was released in October, doesn't mean it is ready for prime time. Sorry but I base that on the past few versions of Windows MS released that were not safe to install for non-techy people until 6 months after the release.

They'll try it on a test machine but not on his/her main everyday computer.

That's debatable plodr, but Win 11 is definitely no longer beta. Take a look at Dell's lineup as of today for example, not a Win 10 in sight!

Correct Windows 11 is no longer beta i am running the full version. The only reason why you should not upgrade to windows 11 is due to the TPM issue. If a older system does not have this option in bio's don't bother for a while stick with windows 10.

And at least Microsoft is not forcing the windows 11 download this time.
