Help I have no sound

Please help I have a dell inspiron 1300 laptop. It crashed and I have lost to recovery disk. So I put windows vista on it. Now I have no sound and it will not find my sound card. When I look at devices it has a question mark next to pci devices. Under sound it says audio codecs and thats all it says. Legacy is what it says under video. Please help:confused

 

Try going to the Dell website and go to their downloads section. They should have a list which you can use to find your laptop and install the audio card drivers.

You might also try going to control panel, windows update and see if any update for your sound is there, windows must update first, then it will update hardware. ed
