Help! I'm desperate...

Ok, ever since I installed SP2 on my machine, shareaza almost stopped D/L!
I was used to a 60-100 KB/sec rate and now it won't go any higher than 10!
I have the newest shareaza (2.1) and I also patched my system's TCPIP.SYS file and so I don't get any more of these "too many tcpip" (4226) events.
I'm downloading 10-12 files with LOTS of sources and it's on for days continuously.
What can I do??
Should i try a different program? I really like shareaza.
Any thoughts?

Hi,

I suggest you have a look at the Microsoft Knowledge Base. There are known problems with SP2 in that it affects a lot of programs from operating correctly. The Microsoft website has a list of affected programs, yours may ewll be one of the affected ones. At the site there are also details of resolving the known problems

I noticed that SP2 automatically runs the built in windows firewall via the "security center". If you haven't setup the firewall before this, this might be affecting some ports that Shareaza needs. Try disabling the firewall first to see if it affects your download speeds at all. If it resumes back to normal, you can try going to Shareaza's help page to find out what settings you need to do on your firewall to make it work with the program.
