Help installing MSSQL

I am trying to install the client tools for MSSQL 2000 on my XP box. I used to just insert my SQL Server 2000 CD in the drive, select install server (It told me it could not because it was XP, I could only do the client tools), and off it went just installing the tools. (Entrprise Manager, etc). Now, when I insert the CD, I select SQL Server Components -> Install Database Server.....then nothing happens. It just goes away. If I try again, it says setup is already running....so I check and there are two processes still running. I have tried killing those and trying again....same story. I have also tried to wait it out (over a day), still nothing happens. I have kiled any other programs running, including AV, etc. Any ideas what could be stopping this install? Is there a manual way to install just the client tools?

Try finding the setup files on the cd and starting it from there.
And are you loged in as admin?

 

Yes, I have tried directly accessing the setup .exe, and have also verified that I was infact logged on as admin.

Any other ideas?

How many setup files are there,try doing a search?Maybe there is more than one.
Try search 'setup' on the cd.
