help installing phpbb (configuring mysql database)

my limit of creating a database for mysql 5.0 so far is the CREATE DATABASE 'name'; command....i need to know what all i need to configure within the database to have it ready to install phpbb2...this includes commands...ive done google searches and forums searches etc. but cannot find anything that tell you only what you need to install phpbb2. using php4 which is already installed and working and apache2...thnx in advance.

 

Just install phpbb all u need is a database and username and pass

 

thnx for the reply...i finally got a hold of a friend of mine that had his own and he said the same thing...only question is do i need to keep the database in the mysql folder or in the phpbb folder?

 

Do you mean the config file? That should be in the main directory of phpbb, along with index.php ect. If you need more help about that you can try going to http://www.phpbb.com and they'll tell you what to do.

I have no idea, you must have your own server. On a webhost you just create the database set a username and password and then add that to your config file. Other than that i dunno, why not try both i guess.
