A piece of "hardware" (not mine) is continuously trying to be installed on my computer. It is called Volumesnapshot. Fortunately, I think, windows denys it as it doesn't carry the correct logo. But where is this coming from?

    It's part of Microsoft.

Other than that I'm not sure how you should proceed. Make a new post in the Hardware Forum with all the relevant info including what type of operating system you have.

Thanks! - I will try posting in the hardware forum. Your response worries me, as I have a PC, XP system. Is someone using a Mac trying to attach a piece of hardware to my computer - either on purpose or wirelessly - and without knowing?

Microsoft as in Windows PC. :) So it's not malware or anything. I'm just not sure of how you should proceed. Hopefully, someone will know in hardware.

If it is Shadow Copy, then its turned on and off from the bios I think. I have seen something at least similar there, but have never turned it on, and typically its off by default. How it got turned on is anybodys guess, but you would be the one to know if anyone in the house has access to your PC.
