Hi all I I wanted to delete my old Java 7 to update my Jave and I cannot get the Java 7 to delete. I even ran the free version of Revo uninstaller and then it gives me this folder of all the things to delete and I get nervous of deleting the wrong things.

Also when I downloaded the new version of Firefox this thing pops up and tells me I need the plug ins and I have no clue what it means.

    HELP!!!

You shouldn't "delete" applications from your computer, but uninstall.

However, there is no need to uninstall Java 7 to update to the latest version Java 7u4; the older version (back to Java 6u10) will be automatically uninstalled. Versions older than Java 6u10 must be manually uninstalled.

Regarding Firefox, can you give us the exact message, or even better, a screenshot?

Thanks but the problem I am having is installing the latest Java.. It wont let me. I just have the 7 one installed.

I have Hp Dv6000 laptop with Vista Home Premium 32 bit and not sure how to fix this problem.. I even did scans to see if it was a malware problem. ETC.

I even just did a restore point and now it is acting funny. I just do not get it. lol

The exact message was you are missing a Foxfire Plug in. But did a restore point and I am waiting to see how that works. I have tried however numerous times to update Java and it is stuck on stupid..

What exactly happens when you try; do you get an error message?

Can you try to use JavaRA to remove the earlier version?

I assume that you are trying to download/install the Java RTE (Runtime Environment) and not the Java SDK (Software Development Kit).

Can you try to download the full (offline) installer directly from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-7u4-download-1591157.html

You need to accept the License Agreement on top of the downloads, then download the appropriate installer.

Note for 64-bit Windows you will need both 32-bit and 64-bit Java installers.

Did you try JavaRA from the link that I posted earlier?

This is the one I chose because mine OS is 32-bit.

    Windows x86 Offline (32-bit) 20.08 MB jre-7u4-windows-i586.exe.

What do you mean (Did you try JavaRA from the link that I posted earlier?)
