HElp Laptop Problem

Hi im using a ATI mobility Radeon 5470 1gb ddr3 vram
but after 2 week( of playing games) my laptop crashed and when I boot it up It wont boot and after 2 days of troubleshooting I found out that theres something wrong with my video card since when I try to install the AMD driver after it reboots I get either the black screen or stuck at "Starting Windows" I really need help I love this laptop so badly and Ive reformmated about 7 times already and narrowed it down to this problem

BTW before it crashed I was able to play DX10 games but now I cant and when I try to dxdiag it it displays that I only have a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter when I supposed to have a ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 plus when I start ATI Catalyst Control Center It responds by saying It Cannot Be started since the current active GPU is not supported what does that mean??

I have a ASus K42JR if that helps

I can use it as a normal laptop now but I really want to play games on it again PLS HELPPPP


BTW does the warranty cover for this??
