HELP!!!!!!!! Lots of problems with my software

okay not sure if this is where i need to post this so hopefully it is. frist i wanna say that iam really not good at this computer stuff. but mine is going nuts and i really need to get it taken care of , so hopefully someone can help.
heres whats going on. it all started a week ago when my brother in law downloaded a dvd copy program. after he downloaded i started gettting this strange warrning when i click on things on the desk top. i can't really remeber what they said i know it knew my husbands name. ( computers registered under him) and that it was talking about not being able to access the programs. but as soon as you hit okay it would let you continue. so my brother in law told me to down load adware and spyware and run them so i did. ( i also have norton but it came up clean) well they came up clean too. so then he told me to uninstall them and download ad-ware so i did and nothing again so when i uninstalled that i lost all my dektop icons and start bar. and could no longer log on the internet in normal mode. my task manager say that there is no users and there is mine and my husbands in there. i have alot of processes but there was no explorer.exe or iexplorer.exe so i logged on here in safe mode and i looked that up and fixed it. got my icons back. but still cannot log on internet in normal mode when i click it nothing happens at all i have even tired to do it in the task manager under run. i also get these when i first turn on the computer and windows boots up i get runtime error program C.... R6034 an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime libary incorrectly. Please contact the applications support team for more information. Then when i try and download i get this error internet explorer cannot download (gives the download name) from files 3.majorgeeks.com Internet Evplorer was not ble to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavaible or cannot be found please try again later. please some one help me i know you need my logs but i don't know how to send them.

would it be possible for you to restore your PC to a date before your B in L shafted you? If System Restore is still active, what you would want to do is to go into safe mode (usually hitting the F8 button during boot gets you to the safe mode selection screen) and just before Windows allows you into the safe mode system it asks if you would rather do a system restore, take the restore and go back to a date before your B in L visited.

 

Using system restore is unlikely to help an infected/malware loaded machine.

As Mart Trent advised, you need to work through the Read and Run Me First thread and start a new thread in the Malware Forum, attaching the requested logs in that new thread.
