help me figure out what this is.

I have this very weird device that is connected to my computer, and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out as to what it is and what it does. Here is a screen shot of the device list.

It's the Hauppauge win/tv plug&play series. I googled it and couldn't find what this does. there is also a wire that connects to it and has four plugs (like a dvd plug) 1 red 1 white 2 yellow. and help would be great.

I believe that would be a TV tuner card or a video capture card. It lets you watch TV on your computer, or record tv signals onto your computer.

 

Indeed looks like a tv card, try and check the back of your pc and see if it has some outlets like cable or such! you'll recognize them, same as in tv!

 

there isn't one. There is just a cable that has the dvd type connectors on em. I've tried to connect it to my tv but nothing happens. I think I need software, but I don't have any.

Also, make sure the VIDEO OUT from your TV or VCR is connected to the VIDEO IN on your WinTV card.
