Help Me Find A Chromebook

I've been a lifelong Windows laptop user... with an Android phone which I also like. I really like the convenience of Android bank and other apps that allow me to sign in with biometrics. I keep wishing I could do the same with my Win laptop; but alas no, despite years of talk, one simply can't sign into Win browser webpages or Win apps with biometrics. It's still passwords (although with ease of use mitigated by password managers).

So, I understand chromebooks can also run android apps? If I buy a chromebook with biometrics readers (i.e. infrared camera and fingerprint reader) - will I be able to sign into websites/apps just like with my phone? And if yes, can y'all recommend a decent - but reasonably priced - chromebook to buy? I use my computers/phones mainly to browse, open up office type files, view photos and videos - nothing truly heavy.

First stop: check here to be sure how many years of updates the chromebook will receive. Usually it is 5 years. Before android apps could be installed, the chrome browser would no longer update so it was useless. Now you can install a different browser and it will be updated.

I see devices for sale that will only get an update for 1 or 2 years. You might want to avoid them.

My chromebook doesn't have biometrics and neither do my android devices so I can't help you there. I do have googleplay on my chromebook and I have installed some google apps.
