when you ran Ad-Aware & Spybot how long was Best Search gone for was it a few days or at next boot?

what OS are you using.. its very important to tell us this as XP has system restore and some spyware can get trapped in the restore points so to suscessfully remove spyware and to that fact virii you'll need to turn off SR and reboot to clear the restore points then run removal again, plus once you remove a peice of spyware great its gone but you can be re-infected by going to an infected website, so the app below is a great help.........

also to stop spyware re-infecting you get ahold of SpywareBlaster as it helps in stopping spyware, dialers from being installed in the first place http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2859

For us to determine what you really have we would need to see a HijaakThis log. Get it here

Put it in its own directory (not a temp folder) and run it and post your unmodified complete log.

First download and run CCleaner (formerly CrapCleaner). Get it here
Just run it and on the Windows tab (you'll see when you run it) leave the defaults and click Run Cleaner. Do not run any of the registry stuff.

From a command prompt (cmd) run the following command (you can also do this by clicking Start, Run, and enter that command in the Open box and click okay):
    regsvr32 /u winnet.dll

Bring up Task Manager using CTRL-ALT-DEL, click on the Processes tab and find this and end the process:

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\taskmgn.exe

Notice it is not taskmgr.exe it is taskmgn.exe.

Shutdown all application especially Internet Explorer, run HijaakThis again and fix:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {85CBFDE0-B26B-4EE5-BD3C-4DE111DE763E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\winnet.dll

Now reboot in safe mode: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam
and then delete the below file:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\taskmgn.exe
Also look in C:\windows\Prefetch for anything like the following and delete it too:
    called TASKMGN.EXE-0A41328F.pf

Note, you may have to enable view of hidden files and folders to see this with Windows Explorer. Here is how to do that: http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Now reboot normal mode and run these online scans:
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp select Auto Clean
