That is not enough information. What is the make and model of the computer? Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to sound in Device Manager? If there is, right click the device, select properties and in the Details tab provide the Vendor and Device Id at the top of the list after selecting Hardware ID's in the dropdown box.

Edit: Just missed your report. Please provide the Vendor and Device Id as requested.

Your device manager looks okay. Did the sound stop all of a sudden? I would first update your XP to SP3. See if installing SP3 resolves the problem but I doubt it. You still need it for security reasons. Do not worry about the Ethernet driver if it is working okay.

For the audio problem, uninstall any audio drivers in ADD/Remove Programs. Then download DriverSweeper and delete anything related to audio. DriverSweeper needs .NET Framework 3 in order to run so you will need to install it first.

After you have deleted any audio with DriverSweeper, install the chipset driver.

    Then install this audio driver.
