Help me remove COOL WEB SEARCH home page please

    I have tried EVERYTHING--Hijack this, adaware...., cwshredder, everything.....PLEASE HELP ME! No matter what i do, no matter what the cleaners say, COOL WEB SEARCH is my home page...please help

    After following the steps in the link Kodo gave you, if you still have problems, you should read the tutorial in this Sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

    Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file (i.e., hjtlog.txt) attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail, items in the tray, anything you can close... Close before running Hijack This!

    Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder or choose run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

    I am having the same problem and have run every free program that has been suggested on my work computer. My explorer keeps defaulting to "http://213.159.117.134/index.php" cool websearch and I keep getting a pop up that saying installing plug in which crashes and says something about runtime error 229 and that 125024.dll has caused a failure or something of that nature. I am going to try to the hijack this as my last effort. I do not know what else to do. Any other thoughts on this?

    Forgive my ignorance but my issue is the same as his and I thought maybe the people who answered could kill two birds with one stone even though at this point I suppose their answers are kinda like beatin a dead horse. I have read every thread out here regarding this cool websearch issue and just figured since AJLenfant and I were sitting in the same sinking ship we could share a thread, sorry if I offended anyone as this was not my intention.[/FONT]

    didn't offend anyone but not every issue is the same. You may have cool web search but you may also have several other things NOT related to this other persons issue. Therefore, we ask that you start your own thread so that we can concentrate on your case separately.

    What makes you think your issue is the same. AJ made no references to the IP address you talked about. He made no references to runtime errors either. What you have done is to attempt to hijack this thread just like the hijacker has hijacked your web brower. This is considered rude. It also becomes quite confusing for the originator of the thead and the people helping to try to deal with multiple people in one thread and problems are almost never "exactly" the same.
