    Hi, I have HP a1700n.
The product detail is on here...

I am trying to upgrade ram. My friend installed one 1GB ram last time for me, and I am trying to make mine upto 4GB. So... I have 512MBx2 and one 1GB. Based on the information, I believe there are only four slots for the memory. So, I am looking for 2GB Ram.

    Is it worth it?

I checked some website (I prefer amazon.com) and sawthis one. Please check this out and let me know if this thing can work for my computer. I am concerned about the word SODIMM Memory.

    Thank you very very much!

I think you forgot the link to the memory you've found.

Also, that computer tops at 1GB per slot, so unless you start taking out modules, you have room for a single one right now. Keep in mind, if you are running 32-bit Windows, you won't see more than 3-3.5GB memory, regardless of how much you install, and if you're in 32-bit Windows, you are unlikely to need more than 2GB unless you do some very heavy gaming.

Um... is it hard to upgrade to 64-bit?
I mean... I like to play crysis or bioshock.. (which I belive is pretty heavy)
But for some reason it's just not fast enough as I expect.
What else do I need to upgrade?
Oh I have e-GeForce 8500 with 512 MB on it.

The specs of that part says it's for a laptop: 200-pin is the form factor of SODIMMs, or laptop memory. Unless I drastically misread the link to your computer specs, you have a desktop?

Oh, and if you want to be able to play Crysis or Bioshock, you're probably going to need a new graphics card. Check each game's system requirements carefully, or run the game-o-meter at www.yougamers.com

Go to a memory making company's website and they'll usually have a scanner available. Crucial's is www.crucial.com
PNY has one too, I think at www.pny.com
