Help me with wireless security with D-Link

I need some exact step by step instructions on enabling security features on my D-Link DI-624 router and DWL-G 520 NIC. I have followed the instructions and even called tech support but to no avail. When I enable any of the security features on the router I loose the wireless computer even after configuring it with the same keys and information from the router.

Some one please help.

Do it one step at the time.

Like SSID in Router and SSID in Card.

Channel other than 6 in the Router Same Channel in the Card.

MAC enable in Router and assign the MAC of the Card.

At this point you would have basic protection.

Then get to WPA.
