help...mega problems

I'm running windows 7 home premium on an emachine, e627. I'm using PC firewall plus, and advanced system care. Now I can't install any updates or the Avira antivirus that i downloaded. I keep getting a message from windows that tells me that my internet settings need to be changed because they are not allowing my programs to update or install....As far as I understand the settings, everything is set to medium and should allow these installations....I tried to update my ati driver, and my card reader driver and I can't do that either.

Also the touch pad synaptics is constantly locking up and I find it difficult and frustrating to use the keyboard. I'm not sure if the cpu is overheating or if there is a corrupted file causing the problem....

Any suggestions would be appreciated....

Try rolling your machine back to a date that it was working properly.
start> search programs>system restore> follow prompts.

 

Or go to " Windows Advanced User Mode " by pressing F8 on boot and scroll down to "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if that sorts out your problem, then start over again !
