    Hi major geeks!
I need big help with my system (vista) which seems to be quite injured. Don't know what's happening, seems to begin with the impossibiity of windows update to download actualization (pack 2) even if rebooting twince and then giving up automatically, each time I close or open the computer (and during 20 minutes !!). Now, if I open windows update, it just keep searching for actualizations endlessly..
The computer gets very, very slow, doesn't respond for few minutes in every page I open..
I have checked my events journal, it gets full over 1 thousand error and avertisment messages!!!. Don't know what's happening, pleaaaaaaase help, I'm desesperate as I have to give my tesis in 3 week, at least, the perfect time for my computer to be like crashing!!!
    What can I do ???

It sounds like you have malware.
    Start here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
do steps 1 and 2. When you get to step 3, click the link for Vista cleaning procedures.

When you have download and run all the programs, post the logs, as attachments here in a new thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35
If something does not work or you get an error, post here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 explaining what you could do and where you got stuck.

    Hi plodr
Thanks so much for your answer... I'm doing all the step you suggested me. I didn't have problem so far (even if it takes ages..), till I try to run RootRepeal.. does't want 'cause coudn't find the adress ......., and I received some crash reports.. Well...
I write to the forum you tell me in case of this kind of problem, coudn't get any answer so far.. But I was wondering if I can skip this step and run MGtools? What do you think?
    Have a nice day,
    Muriel

Skip it and go to the next step.
Also, it's not a good idea to be asking for help here. They have a special malware forum because of too many well-meaning but ignorant people trying to help but making things worse. Just be patient and someone knowledgeable will get to you.
