    Hi there,

I'm hoping someone will help me, I really need to get IE7 working, before anyone suggests that I use Firefox or Opera dont worry I already do! I need to use IE7 in order to test some web pages that I am working on to see what they look like in other browsers confused

Anyway, when I click on the IE icon I get a brief moment that IE loads up and then it gives me the error message that says

If I look for more details then I get the following information:

I have googled to see if I can find out whats wrong, have unistalled and re-installed IE7 and ran adware and spyware and its still not working.

Its not opening the page long enough for me to get into the menu bar so I can't search through the 'internet options' and disable any plug-ins to see if they are interfeering. I have downloaded a new kernel32.dll and installed that in the system32 folder and still nothing?? rolleyes

I would be grateful of any other help that you can give me to advise what may be wrong!??

Just thought I would also mention that occasionally I get an odd error where I get told that Norton Internet Security is not enabled and that I am not protected from a threat, when I look at Norton it IS enabled and it seems to settle down, apart from this the PC seems to be running okay.

I am using Windows XP with SP2

Thanks in advance for your help!! :)

    Hi there!!

I just want to say Thanks to getanner for the answer to this problem - it worked perfectly and I fixed it within about 10 seconds!!

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back on this forum, I have been so busy and not had to use IE for testing yet but have just checked my emails and it showed me your reply contained within the email, when I checked back here your reply was gone??? So for the benefit of anyone else who has the same problem with IE I will re-post the advice that getanner posted (what I followed to rectify my problem) below:
(if the info was removed from here for a specific reason, please feel free to let me know and I will remove info!)

    Thanks again!!

    Rach,

I'm glad you got the email which detailed my solution. I had no idea that the post was subsequently deleted from the forum as I do not normally visit here.

    Thank you for reposting.

    Kind regards,

    G
