    Hi,

I'm posting here as I hope someone can help me!

I have been using one of those social networking bots for the last 8 months to manage an account I have on MySpace and I recently bought a new PC running Windows XP Home. My old system was from 2000, but I was running XP Home SP 2 on it and Badder Adder was working fine.

Anyway, I've spent the last week transferring files and installing software packages on the new system and for some reason, when I went to transfer the activation from my old Bot program (Badder Adder) for use my new computer I could not get the program to work.

So figuring this was an issue with the Badder Adder software, I decided to hunt around for a new Bot to use.

I settled on Adder Robot and downloaded the trial version to give it a spin.

To my shock, I am getting the very same issues with Adder Robot as I got with Badder Adder. So then I tried another one called Space Station.... same problem happens. With each of these bot type programs, I am getting the same problem and the programs won't run!

I have no idea what the program architecture is in each of these Bot type programs, so I am figuring there is some kind of thing they all have in common that something on my system does not like. For the life of me, I can't figure out what it could be or how to get Badder Adder or something similar working for me!

    This is the scenario:

    1.) I install software
2.) Attempt to log on to MySpace using the Bot
3.) I get a failure message that says:
"Adder Robot (or whatever package) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
4.) Program shuts down and I can't use it at all. It won't get past the initial login.

Alright... so I did some reading on Adder Robot and downloaded the latest .NET patches and updates, so that is all up to date.

Also I am running the following security programs (not sure if these are conflicting with the Bot's ability to run)
    McAffee VirusScan
    ZoneAlarm
    Windows Defender

I am running .NET Framework 2.0

Windows XP is updated with the latest updates.

I generally use Mozilla Firefox to browse, but I see from reading posts on various forums regarding these bots and I read that some people had issues with Internet Explorer 7. I am currently upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 and this is one of the browsers I use. Though it seems that some people are having no problems with IE7 while others are. In fact, I have IE7 on my old system and Badder Adder is running fine on that one.

My system specs are as follows:
    Athlon 64 X2 Dual 4200
    2.2GHz
    2GB RAM
Operating System: Windows XP Home SP 2

I am connected through a LAN (Ethernet) system in my home on a High Speed Cable connection to the net.

The only thing I thought might be messing me up is the use of ZoneAlarm on the system. So I shut down ZoneAlam and tried to log in with the bot, but the same issue I detailed above happens. The program shuts down.

Can anyone help shed some light on why no Bot programs are running on my system?

Thanks for any help you can give!

    Matt,

It ended up being a problem with Flash. I uninstalled the Flash player completely from my system and that fixed it. Then after I got the adder working again I re-installed just the flash browser plugin and so far, so good.

    Hope this helps.

    webgyrl,

Thanks for the help. I'm going to try it after my new microsoft updates restart and load the adder bot again.

If it doesn't work, then i'll have to uninstall flash player and reinstall again after adder...geeezzzz.....this is wasting a lot of my time and i have 3 affiliate sites to finish. :(

    Thank you for the answer.

Cheers and have a good one

    Matt
