HELP new radeon 9800xt

Hey guys

i just upgraded from my old radeon 9600xt, to the more modern 9800xt, unfortunetly after the install i am now getting random screen blackouts every 2-5 seconds, this is the case for any resolution over 1024 by 168, this is a really weird problem, and any advice would be much appreiated.

 

What's your OS?

Do you have the latest ATI drivers for your card?

 

You probably didnt remove the old drivers for the 9600, do a clean install of drivers.

 

Don't discount the fact that your PSU may not be up to the job. it's interesting that it only happens on higher settings. try temporarily removing any non essential drains on the power an see if the problem persists. the .softmod drivers are pretty good btw.

great advice - at first i thought it was the left over drivers from my 9600xt - i was about to do a reinstall of XP, but then i decided to double check, and i found out for some reason the 9800xt put my refresh rate up to 75, when my LCD supports max of 70 - i put it down to 70 and the problem was fixed, /slap myself, thanks for the responces guys - really appreciate it
