try reseating your video card. Make sure it's in the slot completely.

maybe its something with your power supply, because that has happened to me before, make sure everything is plugged in completely, especially your graphics card if it takes power from a power cord as well as the slot, try unplugging stuff, like disc drive or whatever or maybe fans

Look in your motherboard manual to see what the beep means.

Also, if it turns out that the bad component is one of the new ones, you can return it and get a working piece.

And if your motherboard manual doesn't identify the beep code you're hearing, try the mobo manufacturer's site. And the BIOS manufacturer's site. If that doesn't work, Google "post code beeps" and see if a third-party page has the info you need.

But are you sure about "phoenix awardbios"? I'm under the impression that Phoenix and Award are two unrelated BIOS manufacturers. In other words, it should be one or the other. It's important, because Phoenix beep codes aren't the same as Award beep codes.

I downloaded the manual for that board the other day and it had nothing in it. But judging from Jarchers' list there, it looks to be a bad PSU.

Those look rather like the IBM beep codes to me. Other manufacturer's codes are different. If marioman's BIOS is made by Award, it could be a memory problem. See Phoenix's page here for info on AwardBIOS beep codes.

[Re my earlier post: it seems that Phoenix has swallowed Award. I hadn't known that. But it does look as if the BIOSes are still different -- and have different beep codes.]

i think it is the ram beacuse i took ont the power suply and put it in another computer and it worked. now all i have to do is find some one that has DDR memory and put it in to see if that works.
