I recently purchased a Asus K42JC-VX108 and I charged It like 4 hours but the dealer said to charge it like 5 hours initially but on the 3rd hour of charging the charging LED turns green, signaling it's full so I remove it. So here's my questions.

btw here's my battery info: 6 cells: 4400 mAh 48 Whrs - sorry but i dont know what brand it is :(

    1. On my 2nd charge time it took like 3 hours to get a full charge is it normal?

    2. Is it okay to leave the AC adapter connected on my notebook and could this damage my battery?

    3. How long is the "power on" time of my battery? I mean the average time before the battery power runs out.

Nice advice, actually i still got the hard copy of my user's manual, but the manual on Asus website is much more detailed, unfortunately It didn't answer my questions :(

Is 3 hrs @ full charge before the battery becomes dead is still normal?

Lasting 3 hrs. on a full charge is pretty good. I guess it all depends on your power settings in Windows. Some laptops with different batteries last a little longer.

Personally I would not leave the laptop on charge 24/7. Charge the battery only when needed. I left a laptop battery on charge 24/7 for about 1 yr and I lost a lot of the battery life.
