To stop it from automatically restarting on errors,

Right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, then under Startup and Recovery click Settings.

Under System Failure, uncheck "Automatically Restart" then OK and apply.

Also, try uninstalling any unused programs, and any programs that are causing errors, then completely remove them, then reinstall them.

Then carry out a thorough CHKDSK (right-click your hard drive, then properties, Tools, then Check Now. You may have to restart) and defrag.

BTW, why are you using FAT32, NTFS is MUCH more stable.

If you want to convert, Start, run and type in

    convert c: /fs:ntfs

(Note there is no EASY way of going back, so convert only if you are sure, however, it is a much better file system)

Make sure you aren't trying to right-click a shortcut of My Computer.

An easier way, go to Start, run and type in sysdm.cpl then click OK, then follow my previous instructions.

As far as converting, it shouldn't affect any personal files, but you should back them up anyway.

Nothing is guaranteed and it's better to be safe.

I also strongly suggest you install Service Pack 1 and 2, as well as all critical patches, then pay a visit to the SPYWARE FORUM and follow their recommendations in the "stickies".
