    Hello everyone,
I am having a problem with my windows xp machine. I inadvertenly deleted my mouse driver running uniblue power suite driver update. Now some how I have done something that will not allow the system to boot at all. I tried running my xp disk for a system repair but I have a problem with my raid not being recognized. I run the disk and hit f6 to load my drivers insert my floppy and the floppy light will go on for a second. The systems comes back with install the manufacturers disk and press enter. This is a system I built back in 04 and I dont have the original silicone image ultra ata 133 medley software disk. I have tried several drivers from there site and still have the same problem. I seem to remember in the past that after putting in the disk it would come up with a choice that was highlighted and you would select it.
    Any Ideas?

    Thanks BK

    Thanks,
I have downloaded several different drivers from the silicon image support site. I insert the disk when it prompts me to. It looks like it can't find what it is looking for on the floppy as it starts lights up the drive and stops. And comes back with insert disk again. I did have success with this before and when I inserted the disk it would come up with a highlighted location " silicon image ultra ata 133 medley" selection. I don't know if it is my os or the driver I am trying to install. I have tried three different xp cds. ?????

    Thanks again BK

The driver is for the raid card. silicon image 0680. I am trying to restore the system. I am not worried about the mouse at this time. To make this a little more clear. Basicly the system is down now. Trying to restore the OS. I am trying to boot off of the Xp cd and since it has the raid card the OS does not recognize the hard drives and asks for a third party manufactuers disk. This is where my problem is. When I try to install the raid card driver the system does not recognize the driver. And like I said before it prompts me to install the driver. I insert the disk, the floppy tries to read it and then it comes back with please install the manufacturers disk. I have tried several different drivers off of the silicone image site and the system will not recognize any of them. In the past when I have restored this system when I insert the disk the system will come up with a highlighted choice of the driver to install. It just seems that no matter what driver I try to install the system will not recognize it.

    Thanks for the help

    BK

I personally have no experience with floppy installation and raid cards.
What I found, you can read here :
    http://forums.techarena.in/xp-hardware/694164.htm

    And drivers I found here:
    http://www.siliconimage.com/support/searchresults.aspx?pid=31&cat=3&ctid=2&os=10&

You may already be aware of these .
If you can't find what you need there, I'm afraid we will need someone else to step in with experience with this particular issue. I was trying to help because I saw nobody had yet responded to your issue .
There is a solution out there somewhere, don't worry, we can get it fixed with a little effort . :)
Unfortunately, as I already mentioned, the last experience I had with floppies was with my Commodore 64 and Apple ][+. (yes I'm old!) Don't give up though, someone else here at MG will certainly step in with more knowledge !
Good luck - I will keep on eye on your thread .

Well just got off the phone with silicone image. They say they make the chip but not the board. They also do not know who makes the board. they refered me to their distributor who said if I did not purchase the product from them they will not offer any support. So If you can find anyone else on the MG board that has any of this experience I would appreciate it.

    Thanks BK
