Help! Pc random restarts

Hi there i recently bought a new pc - a fujitsu scaleo p with a p4 320ghz, 512ddr ram and a pci xpress radeon X600. it runs fine apart from sometimes when im playing a game it randomly restarts the computer with no warning at all. i have no idea why it is doing this and if anyone has any ideas or has had a similar problem any help would be great. thanks.

 

Do you have virus protection and/or a router? Need a bit more info.

 

I'm assuming you are using XP.

Right-click My Computer, then Properties.

Go to the "Advanced" tab, and under "Startup and Recovery" click Settings.

Under "System Failure", uncheck "Automatically restart" then click OK.

That doesn't fix anything, but will stop XP from automatically rebooting on errors.

 

yeah ive got norton antivirus and am going to install AVG and some spyware software to see if there's any viruses etc. thanks for the advice ill see how it goes now.

 

well no viruses and i unchecked the automatic restart box but it just did it again. any other suggestions?

 

Go to control panel,admin tools,event viewer,have a look in applications and services for a error like application had to shut down.
