Hi, I'm a college student moving into a dorm this fall. Since space is limited, I'm thinking about having a TV tuner included with my desktop computer, having a TV and computer combined. I Also like the idea of recording live TV. I'm customizing one on the Dell website. What confuses me is the LCD monitors, is there a certain one you need for the TV tuner to work? On the Dell website there were several LCD monitor options. I personally like the 20 inch UltraSharp™ 2007FPW Widescreen Digital Flat Panel. But there is nothing that says if it compatible with the TV tuner. Can someone give me any info or advice about these TV tuners, do they really work or waste of money?

The TV tuner is installed in the computer, either as a PCI card or as part of the graphics card. Any monitor that will connect to your computer's video outputs will work. I've got the ATI TV Wonder PCI card in my kids' computer for space reasons also. It can be set to record like a VCR and do the real time pause thing like the DVR boxes.
