Help, picture on my screen is screwy.

Please help. I started my PC and the picture was small and dark. I was able to enlarge it using the controls on the monitor, But it is still off about one inch or so to the left. Can anyone please help? I have a Dell d1025tm monitor. Running XP home edition. With an Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics controller. I have a Compaq Presario S5100NX With a 2.6 gig processor and 512MB Ram. I'm a novice so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

sounds like you need to move the horizontal or vertical position via the monitors on screen menu ... as well as the contrast/brightness

 

I tried that but I can't get it to set all the way. It's off by about an inch on the left. It's as if it scrolled to the left and now it's stuck. Any other ideas?

 

Has the resolution changed from what it normally is?

 

maybe updating your video card drivers will help?

 

There should also be a movement control on the monitor. Were the controls behind a drop down panel? Or were they wheels on the bottom? If they were buttons on the front, with an onscreen menu, then there should be multiple options in one of the windows, where you can move the screen as well as resize it.
