    Hi All

Firstly let me say thanks for letting me use some of your forum space.

I am at a complete loss!!

I have just installed windows 7 (complete install) everything is working other than my on baord sound card which happens to be AD1888 soundmax. I have searched high and low for the drivers for windows 7 and keep coming up blank. I have downloaded the drivers from the motherboards manufacturers sight and have even tried to load one from an asus system but to no avail. I have also tried microsoft driver update.

Everywhere I have googled seems to be an asus issue which has been solved.

Any help in this matter even if it is just to say no drivers are available will be greatful.

My system details are as follows:

    MB Name: ECS gs7610 Ultra

    Chipset: SiS761GX

    Manufacturers Websie: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductList.aspx?CategoryID=1&MenuID=7&LanID=8.

Once again thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi

What version fo Windows 7 did you install, more so looking for was it 32bit or 64bit? only asking as I have an older PC in which its 64bit compatible CPU however no audio driver exists for 64bit, however 32bit there is, so I now run 32bit Windows 7 on it and its happy.

Also did you upgrade from a previous Windows version to Windows 7 or was it a clean install? if it was an upgrade then what Windows version did you upgrade from as it it was XP then thats not a supported upgrade route, may work but may also have issues so clean install is prefered option.

As their is no Windows 7 driver on ECSs website, you maybe out of luck but do tell us what devices in Device Manager have yellow ! marks by them?

An outside chance is to uninstall any audio driver you have already installed then with the XP or Vista Audio driver rigth click the setup file and choose Properties > Comaptability tab and choose compatability for Windows XP.

    HI Halo

Thanks for your reply, I am running 32 bit.

It was a clean install, however my previous operating system was windows xp.

It is showing as a multimedia controller in device manager. The software that came with the motherboard only has W2k-xp lol.

I will try your other method out of curiosity but I have just installed a non integrated sound card.

Once again thanks for you reply.
