    Hello,

I went through the process of malware removal last week with someone in the forum and they said i had to come in here if i needed add'l help. My computer is back up to 100% usage and while I'm on the internet, microsoft office it will say "not responding" and the screen will fade to a light color for a second and then work again then repeat. My screen actually moves. I opened the task manager and clicked on the processes from all users and one of them says 69 for Symantec Service Framework. Not sure what that is but it sounds like something from my antivirus. It is taking me forever to type this. The words have to catch up to my typing.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Just went back and read your thread in Malware Removal section of the forum, and have a question. Which version of NIS are you running, 2008 or 2009? Only asking as the 2008 version seems to have more problems with Vista, http://www.google.com/search?q=syma...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a.

Seems that the only solutions offered are to uninstall your Norton Security Suite and reinstall it, to see if that fixes the problem, as it may well. Or to swap to a different Antivirus application! Hope this helps!:)

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Agreed with Novice about the Norton: Symantec is notorious for producing resource hogs - avast! has just come out with a new free version that includes spyware and virus protection, as well as rootkit detection...

However, I've never known a software that can make a screen fade and shake - you might consider starting a thread in the Hardware Forum listing your complete machine specs and symptoms...

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. This problem actually started happening before I installed the norton so I'm thinking it must be something else. I thought it was malware but we cleaned it. It's odd because it will be low cpu usage and it will run fast like it always has but then it will go up and that's when the issues will start. When it says up top (not responding) and i click in the center of the screen for example that's when it will fade but will come back quickly. Like I said the words will have to catch up when i type. Right now, it's working fine.

I can post it in the hardware section though.

    thanks.
