Help please Desktop n start button

Hello guys.
I need your help...Today something happended with my computer. I'm not able to see my destop and start button.. and I can't right click or something.... well I just can press ctrl+alt+del... and i can't see explorer.exe in my taskmanager.. well, I tried to feed in explorer.exe but it is not working.. please help me guys !!

What version of Windows are you running? How did you try to get explorer.exe running again?

In 2000 and XP, and probably Vista though I don't have that, if you look on the Applications tab of Task Manager, you'll see a button marked "New Task" which you can use to navigate to explorer.exe and set it running again. If you are using 98, a trick to be able to restart explorer.exe (may be a better way but I don't know it, if so ) is to have NotePad open and if explorer.exe crashes and exits, you can use the File - Open command in NotePad to navigate to and re-open explorer.exe. I kept NotePad open on my 98SE laptop everytime I used it for a while until I found what was causing it to crash regularly.

However, I'm getting the impression you're saying you can't get it going again, despite navigating to it and trying. Have you tried rebooting the computer? Did it come back if so?

It's not unusual when the computer runs into trouble for explorer.exe to quit but it shouldn't be an issue to get it back again, even if a reboot is needed. If that's your issue, it will need someone better than me to help you. :wave

 

I am using Windows Xp.. I have tried to reboot the computer many times not working :'(
