Help Please with Internet Explorer 6.0

I recently started to get a Yahoo tool bar automatically appearing when I open Internet Explorer.

The way I remove it is by right-clicking on the bar and untick it to remove it but it always comes back. Is there a way to remove it permanently?

How do I remove Yahoo! Toolbar?
To uninstall the Yahoo! Toolbar, click the "Customise" button and select "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu.
It is also possible to hide or move the toolbar on your browser.

If you are using Internet Explorer, click "View" then "Toolbars". You will see the Yahoo! Toolbar in the list where you can check and uncheck to hide or view at your leisure.

To move the Yahoo! Toolbar, click "View" then "Toolbars" and toggle "Lock the Toolbars". When this is off (unlocked), look for the thin vertical bar directly to the left of the "Y!" button. Click and drag this bar with your mouse to move the toolbar around the top of Internet Explorer.

 

additionally, when you download some programs, such as adobe 7.0, for example, you need to read fully what you are downloading. adobe7.0 offers to install the yahoo tool bar and some cheap photo album program. It does, however, give you the option of NOT installing them.

always read carefully what a "free" program will be installing first and, once downloaded, if you run nortons av, you can run it thru a scan first before opening it.
