My LCD screen is not working. It works fine at the top, but at the bottom it doesn't refreash or anything, it just mostly stays blank. The tech guy at my college said that I can hook it up to another moniter and my computer can work off of it, but I can't get it to work. How do I get the other moniter to pick up my labtop.

 Hi. I think you need to go into the BIOS setup utility (you access it during boot-up), and see if there is a way to select an external monitor and de-select the LCD. If you need help with this, an e-mail to the tech support people at the laptop mfr might be in order. Good night and good luck.
