Help Please

Okay...I have used majorgeeks to get most of the files off my computer. I have downloaded numerous programs from here, Adv Window Cleaner, Spybot, AVG, etc

there are no viruses or malware being found on my system, but the problem I am having is that there are random sounds being played in my system. Like .wav files or something, one will laugh, one plays music, etc.

Anyone know anything about this? I really need to make sure my computer is safe, my credit card has already been hijacked...

When you say that it makes random sounds..... so if the PC is just sitting there, idle at the Windows desktop, it makes sounds? If you disconnect it from the internet (physically unplug the cable) do the sounds still come up?

 

i havent tried with the net cable unplugged honestly

yea it has nothin to do with any of the programs im running

ive had a wolf howl, heard a "yipee", etc

its the damndest thing

 

Are you running ICQ messenger software?

Or any other chat/messenger software?

 

Run MSCONFIG and see what it thinks is in the startup folder. Try a diagnostic startup. Start with as little as possible loading then boot and see if the problem is there or not. If not add bits back until the sounds re-appear you will then have tracked down your culprit.

I take it this doesn't occur in Safe Mode?
